Are You Living Life Alone?

To live alone, is to miss out on the joy of living life together – with others.  Did you know that you were created to live life with others?

God never intended for anyone to live life alone.  I believe that the basic need to live life with others is woven into our DNA.  It is a part of our makeup whether we want to believe it or not.  The basic human need exists to know and be known – to love and be loved, regardless of personality tendencies.

For the sake of simplicity – I believe that you can trace a breakdown in living life with others to two things.  Busyness and hurt.  Relationships take hard work.  It takes time and effort to be able to let others into your world and to get into theirs.  Many never make it a priority.  And as a result, they suffer from loneliness.  Still for others, the reality of pain keeps them from taking relational risks out of fear of being hurt.

I propose to you that living life alone is more painful than the risk of the pain that may come from rejection or abandonment.

Let me ask you this.  Who are you living life with?

If you are an idea person and like practical ideas that work.  Here are some when it comes to relational building with others:

  • Pray for others and let them know when you are praying for them.  It’s amazing how something small can open a huge door.
  • Write a little note of encouragement.
  • Do something nice.
  • Practice being perceptive to the needs of the people around you.
  • Look for ways to be an encourager.

Go for it – take the risk.  Do the work.  Living life with others is worth it!
