Our Certainty

While the media paints a picture of doom and despair regarding the state of our economy I believe that it is extremely important that we maintain a Biblical perspective when it comes to our economy.  Friends this is not the time to shrink back from investing and being faithful to God’s work.  There are Kingdom principles that work outside of the structures we know in this world.  What a great opportunity for the church and the people of God to thrive in the midst of uncertainty.  We are living in some incredible days filled with great opportunity.  God asks us to live by a different kind of economy – the economy of God – one in which we live by faith and not by what we see and feel.

During the great depression people gave on average more in 1933 than what people gave in 2000 – 3.3% compared to 2.6%.  Now is not the time to hold back.  Be a faithful giver.

I have listed some scriptures below that offer Real SOLUTIONS and stability to uncertain times.  Read and meditate on them.  Most importantly though…practice them!  Integrate them and thank God for the certainty that He brings in the face of uncertainty.

Matthew 6:25-34

vs. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Luke 6:38

Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.  For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

2 Corinthians 8:1-7

vs. 7 But as you abound in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us – see that you abound in this grace also.

2 Corinthians 9:6-10

vs. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Be encouraged God has a plan.  Trust Him.  Follow Him!
